2020 Annual Campaign Launche Follows 2 Successful Events

The Community Fund—continuing its excellence through giving—has launched its 2020 Annual Campaign. On the heels of the organization’s 100th anniversary, TCF continues to be a community leader in the “local giving” movement. The Fund strives to find effective ways to create community-building events that highlight the Fund’s impact on all residents, and 2019 was no exception.
On Oct. 15, the first “Community Conversations” event, featuring nationally renowned speaker Dr. Dupont, highlighted the brain science behind youth substance abuse. In collaboration with the RyeAct Youth Coalition, Dr. Dupont gave concrete and impactful examples of creating a safe and inclusive environment for young people.
On Oct. 20, the second annual BET 3-on-3 basketball tournament was successfully held! Over 150 residents from Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe came out to support and celebrate the refurbishment of the Main Street Tuckahoe courts.
The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe raises funds for over 20 nonprofit social service agencies and community programs that rely on grants made directly from the Fund. Senior programming, youth services, education, and prevention programs all rely on The Fund’s dollars.
As the organization adapts to the next 100 years, a more pronounced emphasis is now being put on Community programming that directly affects our residents.
The Community Fund had an especially impactful year. In addition to the ongoing financial assistance provided to our local charitable agencies, the Community Fund made substantial gifts to improve the health and wellness of all our residents through one-time discretionary grant funding to:
  • A youth survey being administered to all school districts to study the health and wellness of our children
  • Procuring a motivational speaker for local high school students on compassion and forgiveness
  • Securing a mindfulness program for 400 middle school students
  • Providing an integrated art program with OSilas Gallery for special needs high school students.
For 100 years, The Community Fund has consistently supported key community programs for the residents of the Bronxville 10708, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe (BET) area, including:
  • Drug, Alcohol, and Vaping education and awareness programs for children and parents, provided by the Maxwell Institute and Eastchester and Tuckahoe D.A.R.E.
  • The Cancer Support Team, the Bereavement Center, and the Counseling Center offer families counseling and support services.
  • Youth programs designed to foster positive relationships with local police, local municipalities, and PTA’s
  • Programs and support services for our seniors provided by Eastchester Senior Programs & Services, Gramatan Village, and the Bronxville and Tuckahoe Senior Centers
  • A new ambulance every three years for the Eastchester Ambulance Corp.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support of those who so generously give their time and resources to support the Community Fund,” stated Amy Korb, Executive Director of the Fund. Korb continues, “Because of our residents’ generosity, we can support the programs and agencies that directly impact our community. Over $550,000 was given to local nonprofits in just the last year. The Community Fund truly believes in local giving for local needs.”
Chris Krieg, the Campaign Co-Chair for Bronxville, added, “ For 100 years, The Community Fund has been dedicated to providing financial assistance and administrative support to agencies and programs serving all residents living in Bronxville, Eastchester, Tuckahoe and the areas located in the 10708 zip code. This is made possible by our donors. We strive to ensure that the organization positively impacts every single resident.”
The Community Fund’s principal source of fundraising each year is the annual fall campaign. Its success determines the amount of grant allocations distributed to the Fund’s member agencies and community programs serving the residents of Bronxville 10708, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe.
