Fostering Referrals Among Member Agencies

Each year, we gather leaders from each of our member agencies – the organizations who benefit from annual grant support – to share information about our fundraising efforts, answer their questions about the application and evaluation processes, and to give them a chance to be among their peers in this unique cohort.

This year, with several of our board members in attendance, we set things up such that the agencies could share stories about:

  • What makes them most proud;
  • What their focus will be in the coming year;
  • What keeps them up at night; and
  • Their reach goals 2-3 years out.

We will share those insights in the coming weeks via new agency profile pages on our website and via social media and our newsletter. The most important outcome of this meeting was that the agency heads told stories about how their services and audiences have often overlapped, how they already make referrals across the agency cohort, and how much they would like to do this more often.

We have put systems and tools in place for these referral conversations to happen more frequently and easily, and we plan to organize more in-person events during the year for this group as well as our board, donors, and other community members to gather and share.

Many thanks to everyone who made this event possible and successful this year, especially Sally Veltidi, Eastchester’s Superintendent of Parks and Recreation and Senior Services, and the facilities team at the Town of Eastchester Town Hall.
