Annual Member Agency Grants

Operating, Administrative, or Program Support. Member agencies may submit applications in January and allocations are announced in May/June.

Applications Launch

1. Use the application checklist to prepare the information and documents you will need to apply.

2. Please use the online form to submit your grant application:

NOTES:

– Applications will not need to be completed within a single-session. You have the option to save your application in progress and return to it. In order to do so, you will need to create a Jotform account if you do not already have one.

– You may upload supporting documents, but you will need to complete the required form fields in order for submissions to be valid.

Office Hours / Info Sessions (NEW)

Register for a Virtual Office Hours Info Session (OPTIONAL)

Applicants are invited to attend one or both “office hours” info sessions. During these group sessions, you will be able to ask questions about the application process. 

Session I: Monday, January 5, 2026, 4pm

Agency Grant Applications Due
Thursday, January 22

This year, agency grant applicants will have until Thursday, January 22nd to submit FY ’27 applications.

Agency Visits (1 hour each)
Evaluators conduct site visits with agency grant applicants.

As part of the evaluation process, Evaluators, organized by topic area, will arrange one hour visits with agency representatives to learn about their work and impact.

Member Agency Criteria

Programs and Services

A member agency will have demonstrated by the quality of its programs and services that it contributes to the well being of our target Area and warrants our support.

Services rendered by member agencies shall meet critical local needs. We do not fund multiple agencies delivering the same services to the same population within our target area. 

Member agencies shall cooperate fully with other agencies performing similar or related functions in our target area.

Incorporation and Tax Exemption

Member agencies are incorporated, not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations exempt from Federal and State income tax and registered as a charitable organization with the New York State Department of State (unless exempted by the Board of Directors of The Fund.)

The Member Agency shall have a written constitution and/or by-laws that clearly define its mission, its organizational structure and the duties, authority and responsibilities of its governing body.

Administration

Member agencies have:
– A responsible and active governing body
– Demonstrable community support as evidenced by volunteer participation and inter-agency relationships
– Qualified professional staff. (Some totally volunteer organizations may be funded.)
– Complete and accurate administrative, financial, services records and reports
– A physical plant adequate for its purpose
– Hours of service that meet the needs of its service population

Non-Discrimination

A member agency has a non-discrimination policy consistent with federal, state, and local law.

Financial Condition

Member agencies are in sound financial condition without excessive debt. Fee policies shall be related to the cost of providing agency services as well as clients’ ability to pay. We require agencies to provide complete funding profiles.

Additional Notes

The Fund may require agencies to supply an annual audited done by an independent certified public accountant or other licensed public accountant.

A member agency operating under religious auspices must clearly distinguish both in its budget and service offering between those services of a health and welfare nature and those of a religious character.
