The Community Fund Distributes $120,000 to Local Organizations

The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe announced today the first round of grants from its newly formed COVID-19 Relief Fund. The fund distributed $120,000 to local organizations supporting the people hardest hit by the pandemic in Bronxville, Tuckahoe, Eastchester, Mt. Vernon, and Yonkers.

“We felt a pressing need to support local agencies that provide food, medical care, and shelter, among other basic services, to those disproportionately affected by the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” said Amy Korb, Executive Director of the Community Fund. “We opened our service area to our neighbors in Mt. Vernon and Yonkers, offering meaningful support to those that need it most.”

“Groundwork Hudson Valley is grateful to the Community Fund for being the first to support our effort to reposition the Science Barge as a growing center to assist increasingly food insecure residents in our community,” says Brigitte Griswold, Executive Director. “Together, we will ensure that local women who rely on the YWCA for food and shelter receive fresh, organic, pesticide-free produce that is increasingly difficult to access.”
