The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe, Inc. has launched its 2016 Campaign to raise funds for the 20+ non-profit social-service agencies and community programs that rely on grants made directly from The Community Fund.
President of the CF Board, Doug Meyer, stated, “This is a special time of year for everyone involved with The Community Fund as it shows the collective caring and generosity of our community. The Fund has such a significant impact on so many of our residents at all stages of their lives and many of our member agencies wouldn’t be able to serve our community without such strong support from our donors.”
For 96 years, The Community Fund has been supporting agencies and community programs which provide services to residents of the Bronxville 10708, Eastchester and Tuckahoe (BET) area, including:
• Family initiatives including cancer support groups, bereavement counseling, and drug and alcohol counseling services.
• Senior living assistance including escorts for transportation, housecleaning services, shopping assistance and recreational programs.
• Youth support including after school programs, teen scene activities, summer enrichment programs, and drug and substance abuse education in BET schools.
• Health care funding including the free flu shots in partnership with NY Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, and the funding for state of the art ambulances for Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC), the primary ambulance provider in our area.
“Our dedicated board members work closely with local volunteers throughout the year to evaluate the agencies we support and ensure that the funds raised from our Annual Campaign go directly back into the community in the most impactful way possible,” stated Melinda Burge, Executive Director. She continued, “We are extremely grateful to our generous donors and hope they share in the pride we feel regarding our efforts in serving the BET community.”
Neal Denning, Campaign Co-Chair for Eastchester added, “The Community Fund’s impact on our residents is felt throughout the BET community on a daily basis. Many of the local services and programs we all benefit from count on grants made by The Community Fund. We are fortunate to have such a valuable resource in our BET community and hope people will acknowledge this by donating generously to our Annual Campaign.” The other Co-Chairs for the 2015 Campaign are Annette Healey Dowling and William Rizzo for Bronxville and Michael Calano for Eastchester/Tuckahoe.
The Annual Campaign each fall is the Community Fund’s principal source of fundraising each year. Its success determines the amount of grant allocations distributed to the Fund’s member agencies and community programs that serve the residents of Bronxville 10708, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.
